Schools in the Jammu summer zone now have announced winter break dates. The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) issued the order. This applies to all government and private schools up to higher secondary level. The DSEJ released the official schedule on December 13, 2025.
The vacations are set in stages. This depends on the students’ class level. The decision helps students as cold weather hits the area.
Winter break times are now set.
- Pre-Primary through Class 5: Break starts December 22, 2025. It ends on January 10, 2026.
- Classes 6 through 8: Students are off starting December 26, 2025. They return January 10, 2026.
- Classes 9 through 12: The break begins December 29, 2025. All schools reopen on January 10, 2026.
Teachers and school staff must follow rules. Staff must be ready for any needed official or school work during the break. All teachers must go back to school on January 10, 2026.
The Directorate warned of strong action for rule breaks. School heads or staff must not violate the break dates. The order must be followed exactly. The order was sent to many groups. These include JKBOSE and Deputy Commissioners. The Information Department must share this news widely. This helps parents and students know the dates.
