Hello Future Cadets and Parents! 🇮🇳

Did you or your child appear for the big Sainik School class 6th Exam today? First of all, a big “Jai Hind” to you! You have worked very hard for this day. The exam is finally over, and now everyone has just one big question in their mind:

“Was the paper easy or hard? Will I get selected?”

Don’t worry! We have talked to many students and teachers to bring you the real and honest review of today’s paper. We have written this article in very simple words so that even a Class 6 student can understand it easily. Let’s dive in!

1. Was the Paper Easy or Hard? (The Truth!)

If we look at the whole paper, today’s exam was MODERATE.

What does “Moderate” mean? It means the paper was not very difficult, but it was not very easy either. It was somewhere in the middle. Some questions made students smile, while some questions made them think hard.

  • For well-prepared students: The paper was scoring.
  • For average students: The Maths section was a little bit challenging.

Let’s look at each subject one by one.

2. Subject-Wise Analysis (Simple Breakdown)

Mathematics (The Game Changer)

Difficulty Level: Moderate to Slightly Tricky

Math is the “King” of this exam because it carries 150 marks (half of the total paper!).

  • Most questions came from topics like Fractions, LCM & HCF, Area & Perimeter, and Simple Interest.
  • About 35-40 questions were direct and easy.
  • However, 10-15 questions were tricky. They were like puzzles. You had to read them twice to understand.
  • Verdict: If you practiced your formulas well, you will score good marks. But careless mistakes could lower the score.

Intelligence (Reasoning)

Difficulty Level: Easy and Fun!

This was the favorite section for most students!

  • Questions were about Patterns, Analogies (finding relations), and Odd One Out.
  • It was like playing a logic game.
  • Verdict: Students can easily score 40+ out of 50 in this section. It was a mark-booster!

General Knowledge (GK)

Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate

GK tests how much you know about the world.

  • Questions were asked about Science (Plants, Human Body), National Symbols, Historical Monuments, and basic Current Affairs.
  • Nothing was “out of syllabus”. If you read your textbook nicely, you knew the answers.
  • Verdict: An average student can score 35-40 marks easily.

Language (English/Hindi)

Difficulty Level: Very Easy

This was the easiest part of the paper today.

  • Passages (Comprehension): The stories were simple to read and understand. Finding answers was quick.
  • Grammar: Basic questions on Nouns, Pronouns, Antonyms (Opposites), and Synonyms.
  • Verdict: This section was a gift for students to increase their total score.

3. Passing Marks: How Much Do You Need?

Many students get confused about “Passing Marks” vs “Selection Marks”. Let’s clear this up in simple language.

To “Pass” (Qualify) the Exam:

You are NOT failed if you get these minimum marks:

  1. 25% marks in EACH subject (Maths, GK, Language, Intelligence).
  2. 40% marks in TOTAL (Aggregate).

(Note: For SC/ST category students, there are no minimum passing marks. They just need to be in the merit list.)

To Get “Selected” (The Real Cut-Off):

Just passing is not enough! You need to score high to get a seat. Based on today’s paper difficulty, here is the Expected Cut-Off for 2026:

CategoryExpected Safe Score (Out of 300)
General / Home State245 – 260+
OBC (NCL)235 – 250
Defence Personnel230 – 245
SC / ST Category200 – 220

Note: This number changes for every Sainik School (like Ghorakhal, Kunjpura, Satara, etc.). Popular schools will have a higher cut-off.

4. Answer Key: When Will It Come?

You don’t have to wait long!

  • Unofficial Key: Many coaching centers and YouTube channels release the answer key on the same day (today). You can check them to get a rough idea of your marks.
  • Official Key: The NTA (National Testing Agency) will release the official answer key on their website (exams.nta.nic.in) in February 2026.

5. Result Date: When is the Big Day?

The NTA usually takes about 6 weeks to check the OMR sheets.

  • Expected Result Date: Mid-March 2026.
  • After the written result, selected students will be called for a Medical Test.

6. What Should Students Do Now?

Relax! You have studied for months. Today, the burden is off your shoulders.

  1. Keep your Admit Card safe. Do not throw it away! You will need your Roll Number to check the result.
  2. Don’t stress about the result. You tried your best, and that is what matters.
  3. Enjoy your time. Play with friends, watch your favorite cartoons, or visit your grandparents.
